Alternative Options for Mitigating Workers’ Compensation Claims Cost
With the ever increasing costs associated with CA Workers’ Compensation claims, this seminar is designed to look at ways employers can save. We will start with reducing exposure on the front end of a claim with Medcor. Medcor’s innovative telephonic injury triage service allows injured employees to speak with a specially trained Registered Nurse the moment after an injury occurs. Costly emergency room visits and unnecessary clinic visits are often avoided reducing frequency of claims.
If a claim does occur and the employee is on a temporary light duty release, an employer can control costs through implementing a return to work program. The Director of our Workers’ Compensation Department at MMA will discuss ways transitional return to work saves on claims costs and promotes positive company culture while reducing risk of litigation.
Finally, we will conclude with a discussion of “what if return to work options are not available?” with ReEmployability. ReEmployability’s Transition2WORK Program provides transitional employment with a nonprofit agency for an injured employee when the employer is unable to accommodate a temporary light duty release to work.
